Tourism NT – Aboriginal Tourism Committee
Cultural Tourism Framework development
Objective
Remote Strategy Plus were engaged to support the NT Government’s Aboriginal Tourism Committee over a series of workshops, facilitating the group in identifying and creating an outline for the various elements of an Aboriginal Cultural Tourism Framework.
Our approach
Our methodology for this project involved conducting extensive SWOT exercises with the group to examine entry points for Aboriginal cultural tourism in the Northern Territory. It also included leading the group through a process to identify critical components of the journey and pathways into tourism, including mapping industry access points and supports. This work enhanced the Aboriginal Tourism Committee’s understanding of a cultural tourism framework, in addition to reviewing their Terms of Reference and strategic elements, refining the Committee’s direction.
Impact
Outputs included an updated strategic workplan, a risk mitigation matrix and finalisation of the Aboriginal Tourism Committee Strategic Work Plan 2022/23, which sets a vision for the Northern Territory to be the undeniable leader in the Aboriginal tourism sector.

Barkly Regional Deal
Barkly Economic Growth Strategy 2030
Objective
Remote Strategy Plus were engaged by Barkly Regional Deal to facilitate a series of Barkly Economic Growth and Support Working Group meetings, to develop and produce the regional Barkly Economic Growth Strategy 2030.
Our approach
Over five months, we delivered a series of workshops using modern tools and approaches, fostering unity and capturing diverse regional perspectives. We built an open environment for honesty and diligence, nurturing trust among the Working Group members. Our success came from engaging participants beyond meetings, distilling insights, and aligning them in focused sessions with the Working Group. This approach was coupled with detailed analysis of local and regional plans, ensuring historical context.
Impact
The Barkly Economic Growth Strategy 2030 embodies collective input, highlighting the Working Group’s diverse contributions across sectors. Our adept facilitation and project management stand out in delivering this impactful strategy.

Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation
Strategic grant and tender writing
Objective
Remote Strategy Plus were engaged by Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation (Julalikari) to support grant and tender writing across the organisation, including Nyinkka Nyunyu Art and Cultural Centre, Jajjikari Cafe and the Construction Unit, as well as several of Julalikari’s Joint Venture businesses, to prepare grants and tenders to support business growth.
Our approach
We collaborated with Julalikari to identify areas for growth and capacity building, and then worked to identify funding sources that would support business growth. Our approach always involves the development structured Project Plans around each initiative, factoring in the needs of the individual project from an assets, business and operational perspective. Each Project Plan we produced also contained clear budget and implementation steps to support the organisation to implement each funding agreement from a governance, financial and operational perspective. The individual Project Plans are then used to develop funding applications to the best identified funding sources. This has included NIAA Aboriginal Benefits Account, the Central Land Council’s Aboriginal Benefits Account Stimulus package, and the NT Government.
Impact
As a direct result of our collaboration, Julalikari were successful in having over $10 million in funding approved. The strategic and holistic approach taken by Remote Strategy Plus has played a pivotal role in supporting Julalikari to increase its funding profile, and through the Project Plans that were created, provided clear direction and frameworks for management to deliver outcomes for Julalikari and its members.

Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation
Organisational review and HRMS design and implementation
Objective
Remote Strategy Plus were engaged by Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation (MCAC) to conduct an organisational review, including the identification and recommendation of fit-for-purpose systems solutions to guide and improve organisational performance.
Our approach
We led the organisation through a change management process and the implementation of a HRMS platform, serving as a central hub for managing and overseeing human resource management requirements for the entire employee lifecycle. Furthermore, we continue to provide ongoing support to MCAC including the provision of recruitment and employment onboarding, all occurring within the organisation’s own HRMS, which guarantees internal control to support protection of employee data.
Impact
This project provided MCAC with the tools they needed to effectively manage their human resource requirements with confidence.

Barkly Regional Deal
Barkly Regional Workforce Strategy 2030
Objective
Remote Strategy Plus were engaged by Barkly Regional Deal to facilitate a series of Barkly Regional Workforce Strategy Working Group meetings, to develop and produce the regional Barkly Regional Workforce Strategy 2030.
Our approach
The Barkly Regional Workforce Strategy Working Group’s goal was to produce the Barkly Regional Workforce Strategy 2030, however the group required strategic support and facilitation to bring together their views and perspectives to produce the final plan. Firstly we reviewed all information the Working Group had produced over several months. We mapped out their input, and identified gaps in information, to design a facilitation process that would enable the strategy to be developed. Our success came from engaging participants , distilling insights, and aligning their views in focused sessions to produce clear strategic priorities, action plans and a strategy that was informed by the Working Group’s participation, as well as analysis of existing and historic local and regional plans, so the Working Group could make important critical decisions.

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia
Objective
Remote Strategy Plus were engaged by Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia to support their Ayers Rock Resort operation to effectively manage their Indigenous Engagement Programs on a daily basis, improve role clarity amongst staff through improved service delivery frameworks, as well as capture all relevant data, produce timely reporting and evidence of outcomes across all programs.
Our approach
Our approach was a combination of workforce engagement activities and workshops, management workshops, as well as review and analysis of all programs, to firstly develop a clear operational, reporting and evaluation framework to support the design of a project management system built specifically to their individual program requirements. Using Smartsheet project management platform, we then created the entire systems environment including digital / online data capture forms, data registers, project management frameworks, automated reporting and program dashboard reports all developed to the specific needs of each Indigenous Engagement program,. The final output of the project was to review how the system worked in operation, to ensure the system meets the needs of the team, management, Voyages board as well as funding bodies.
Impact
Voyages Ayers Rock Resort Indigenous Engagement Programs now have clear governance framework in place, and a system built to program specifications that captures data daily, and a clear framework exists for each program, so that staff can be supported in doing their work, management can access real time data and reporting, and programs can be monitored and evaluated using real-time data.
