Strengthening the Regional Development Network
Objective
Remote Strategy Plus was engaged by Regional Development Australia Northern Territory (RDANT) to facilitate a strategic workshop to strengthen the NT regional development network model, and improve communication and collaboration between NT Government, NT Regional Committees and RDA NT.
Our approach
We didn’t start by only focusing on the workshop, we spent time understanding RDANT’s current challenges, their stakeholder group, and what they needed from a workshop. A pre-workshop survey was sent out to workshop attendees, drawing out their thoughts on regional priorities and what a territory-wide regional development network might explore. Responses were synthesised and themed, and we created a web-based dashboard report summarising findings. RDANT were able to invite people to the workshop, and include the dashboard report, explaining that the dashboard findings would be delved into at the workshop. The workshop used a combination of group activities and digital engagement methods, to maximise the combined knowledge and skills of everyone in the room. The group was able to define ways that regional development could be strengthened in the NT. The workshop also focused on ways RDANT could support these improvements in partnership with the NT Government and other key stakeholders.
Impact
The workshop was able to reinvigorate and connect stakeholders to the role of RDANT in supporting regional development outcomes, but more importantly identify practical ways the NT regional development network could be strengthened in the NT.
